The Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormoz and the Sea of Oman give shape to the waters that wash the southern coasts of Iran and the shores of some Arabic countries. This region has been subject to various circumstances that have put it at the centre of the world stage. In this gallery, however, those aspects remain in the background. The homage presented here concerns the sphere of memories and feelings related to three journeys I undertook some years ago. The overall picture is of an area outside the conflicts – a beautiful, fascinating and peaceful region. The photos were shown in Iran (Hormoz, 2013; Qeshm, 2016), Brazil (Belo Horizonte, 2013) and Italy (Venice, 2013) and published in journals (Âyiné, January 2013) and books (A Gulf, a Strait, a Sea (Iran 1975-1995), Venice, 2013).
