Iran in black and white
The images in this exhibition were published in a recent Persian grammar (Meneghini-Orsatti, Corso di Lingua Persiana, Milan, 2012) Editorial requirements meant that the images had to be black and white, whereas all my photographs were originally in color. I thus had to “decolor” the images and chose those that stood up best to the chromatic draining. The result was not weak copies of the original but new photographs with their own independent value. I have chosen them to represent the various types of landscape (in all four seasons) and to portray different geographical areas and typical elements.
