Mongolian collection 1/6 – Landscapes

Mongolian collection 1/6 – Landscapes

Mongolia is a country of wide-open spaces and deep skies. Its land is characterised by steppes, deserts, fields, mountains, lakes and a few rivers. The usually empty spaces are often not even marked by roads. Apart from people and animals (two specific Mongolian collections are devoted to them: 2/6 and 3/6), the elements in the landscape are few and far between various kinds of trees, the white gers (yurts), small buildings, a few roads and some curious boats. The skies are often covered by masses of layered clouds but there are also some solitary small clouds in blue skies. The frequent presence of clouds gives rise to an intense play of light and shade on the land. There are some very striking rainbows and the light at sunset is particularly warm.
