Mongolian collection 2/6 – People
In Mongolia people living in gers (yurts), villages and small towns provide more interesting ideas for photographic subjects than people in the capital, the country’s only large city. This is because of the clothing (original and coloured) and attitudes (spontaneous and intriguing) of people (especially children) in their contexts of daily life (open outside spaces and unusual, essential architecture). In the capital you are more attracted by symbolic places, ceremonies of various kinds, workplaces, houses (some feature in Mongolian collection4/6) and traffic (passengers on buses are portrayed inMongolian collection 6/6) Buddhist monks are also a subject deserving careful thought.
